Being Creative

I have always admired those who can create. The process of starting from nothing and ending up with something is amazing. This admiration comes from the knowledge that creativity is neither easy nor simple. Amazing creativity includes well known items such as writing a novel, a symphony, motor cars, electricity and wireless communication.

Some creations are complex, such as the outstanding architecture of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, just down the street. Some are not, such as these comments. All of them were in someone’s head before they came into reality. It takes a special person to take a chance, put in the effort and have the perseverance to see the project to reality.

We’re all creative, in our own unique, individual ways.  An encouraging word, a listening ear – these are creative gifts, too.

Take a moment to (re)discover yours.  Then get out there and apply them.  You’ll be glad you did.  And I bet you’ll make somebody’s day.
